I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but you’re going to get through whatever you are going through. No matter how bad things seem in the moment, take solace in knowing that your problem will end.

“What humans experience is part of human experience…Nothing that can happen is unusual or unnatural, and there’s no sense in complaining. Nature does not make us endure the unendurable”

- Marcus Aurelius

You may say that your situation is unendurable, but the very fact that you’re here today reading about this proves that it is, in fact, endurable. You’re going to get through it.

Your boss fired you. Your wife has cancer. All of these things are outside of your control, so why worry? Is your anxiety and stress going to change the situation? No. Focus on getting back up, not why you’re down.

External things are not the problem. It’s your assessment of them, which you can erase right now. The cause of your problem lies outside of you, treat it as such.

The boxer doesn’t get knocked to the ground and sit there reflecting on how he got on the ground. He gets back up, and strikes back even harder. Don’t let yourself be knocked down by your situation. Sit up. Recognize that this is just another experience you’re going through, and will get through, and get to work.
